Adrianne Haslet at the B.A.A. 10K

RUNNER.

Adrianne was never a runner. She used to joke that she could quickstep for hours but couldn’t run a block, and before 2013, running simply wasn’t part of her life. After losing her leg, she made a promise that someday she would run the Boston Marathon, and in 2016, three years after the bombing, she crossed that finish line for the first time.

What started as a promise became something she never expected to love. Adrianne went on to complete multiple Boston Marathons, spent six years fighting for a competitive para division at the race, and eventually competed in the very division she helped create, finishing fourth. Two months later, she won the para division of the B.A.A. 10K.
